Start At The Bottom. Literally.
Hypermobility 101 and Arch and Ankle Control, together. The foundation course, and the one that sorts out what you are standing on.
Most people with hypermobility are handed a sheet of strengthening exercises and told to get on with it. It rarely holds, because the problem was never purely strength. Laxer tissue gives the brain a less precise signal about where a joint actually is, and a brain working from a vague signal cannot organise a joint well, no matter how strong the muscles around it are.
These two courses address that, in the order that makes sense. Hypermobility 101 gives you the model: what is actually happening, why your joints behave the way they do, and how to train control rather than chase flexibility. Arch and Ankle Control takes that model and applies it at the foot, because the foot is the first thing the ground talks to, and when its signal is poor everything above it compensates.
WHY THESE TWO, AND IN THIS ORDER
Hypermobility 101 is the foundation. It is the course everything else we teach is built on, and it is where you learn the principles: sensory clarity before load, control before range, variability instead of rote repetition.
Arch and Ankle Control is the first place to apply them. The arch is not a static structure you hold up, it is a mechanism that builds and releases through every step. Training that cycle properly changes what the knee, hip and pelvis have to deal with further up the chain.
WHAT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND AND BE ABLE TO DO
- Understand why hypermobility affects control rather than simply strength
- Know the difference between passive range, active control and readiness
- Build a movement practice that progresses rather than repeats
- Understand the three points of contact that make foot stability reliable
- Apply targeted work to improve motor control and sensory clarity at the foot and ankle
- Understand why orthotics help in some situations and what they cannot replace
WHO THIS IS FOR
- People new to our work who want the foundation and its first application, rather than a pile of unrelated exercises
- People with hypermobility or HSD who have been told to strengthen, and found it did not hold
- People who notice arch collapse, rolling ankles, or pain further up the chain at the knee, hip or SI joint
- People who would rather understand the mechanism before being told what to do
WHAT IS INCLUDED
Two full courses, education and guided exercise throughout, practical drills, minimal equipment required, lifetime access to both.
